The Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has approved N855 million for the construction of four hostels at the Nigerian Law School, Yola campus.

While briefing journalists on Wednesday after the State Executive Council meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Illiya James said that the decision of the council was to compliment the Federal Government’s efforts in providing quality education.

He said that Fintiri’s administration is concerned with the welfare of students, workers, farmers, and those who are willing to learn skills to become self sustenance.

In his explanation, the Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Affraimu Jingi added that the expansion of the law school will increase the enrollment of students in the school.

He recalled that when the school started in 2013, only 250 students were enrolled but the figure has increased to 400 years later, yet, the issue of accommodation expansion was not addressed in tandem with the increase in population figure.

According to him, with the construction of four hostel blocks approved by the governor, the Yola Law School campus enrollment will double the present number.

Jingi further pointed out that the contract agreement period was for 12 months, and the contractor had assured the government of timely completion of the project.
