Jack Grealish lost £500 after a bet with Alexander-Arnold during England’s 3-1 Nations League win over Finland.

Even in the middle of a match, Jack Grealish does not lack humor. During England’s 3-1 Nations League win over Finland, the Manchester City winger challenged Trent Alexander-Arnold just before a free-kick. Grealish promised his teammate 500 pounds sterling (around 600 euros) if he managed to score.

A masterful expensive free kick for Grealish

In the 74th minute, Alexander-Arnold rose to the challenge in the most beautiful way by sending the ball into the Finnish goalkeeper’s top corner. Jack Grealish, who opened the scoring in the first half, kept his promise. “I came to joke with Trent before he took the free kick. I told him: ‘If you score it, I’ll give you 500 pounds.’ And he put it in the top corner,” Grealish told ITC.

Despite the financial loss, the victory allows England to regain confidence after its defeat against Greece (1-2). The Three Lions now rank second in their group with 9 points, three lengths behind Greece.
