Ivan Toney continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United.
The Brentford striker was left out of the squad today by Thomas Frank while the Bees kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, United are still not interested in a move for Toney this summer despite it being likely that he will leave Brentford.
It is believed United are happy with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as their strikers to lead the line this season.

No approach is planned yet. Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee should play regularly. #MUFC

With United being linked with a move for Toney, former club captain Gary Neville has expressed his desire to see the England striker stay in the Premier League rather than move abroad amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
Neville stopped short of telling United to buy Toney, saying (via Sky Sports/Manchester Evening News): “I would love to see him stay in the Premier League but I have just been told that maybe he is going to Saudi Arabia which would be a shame for the Premier League because we have enjoyed watching him these last few years. He probably feels like he needs to exploit this contract more than any other before. He has not had the career that a lot of players have had at his age who play for England where they will have been earning big money. He shall feel like he has got to go and earn the big money so he may do that but I would love to see him stay in the Premier League as he would be a great asset for another club.”
United could do with signing another striker and with that is of a different profile to Hojlund and Zirkzee. While that would give the manager more options in attack, it would be difficult to keep everyone happy in terms of game time.
Erik ten Hag must consider that before signing a player like Toney before deadline day.
