Greensboro recognized Sting in honor of his retirement.
The legendary Sting competed in his last match at AEW Revolution on March 3. The event was held at the Greensboro Coliseum, a place that carries plenty of significance in his career.
AEW shared a clip on social media in which “The Icon”, along with Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, and Ric Flair, were presented with a proclamation that March 3 was officially Thank You Sting Day in Greensboro.
Sting wrestled for nearly 40 years, and he was a top star in WCW and TNA before his career resurgence in AEW. He had a brief run in WWE, but a neck injury forced him to temporarily retire in 2016.
A new report provided an update on Sting’s retirement. More information is available here.
