The host of Peacock’s WWE show, This is Awesome and former IGN Editor Greg Miller is no longer with the company.

The co-founder of Kinda Funny Games took to his YouTube Channel this week to address his WWE departure. Miller spoke about his exit after people noticed his profile had been removed from the company’s roster page. He also revealed he was actually laid off by WWE back in January.

“And opened up my phone and saw on the old Bluesky, someone saying, ‘Greg, care to comment?’” Greg Miller began. “And I opened it and it was Ringside Report about the fact that ‘WWE superstar has been removed from WWEsuperstars.com’ or whatever the web page where they put up all the superstars for WWE and guess who that superstar was? It was me, baby. Greg Miller. If you didn’t know, I hosted a show for WWE called ‘This Is Awesome’ where we ran you through the most awesome moments in WWE history and we filmed three seasons of it and it was awesome and it was great and it’s officially over.

“Right now, I’m getting so many messages on Bluesky and on Instagram of people saying, ‘Hey, three seasons is something to be proud of. I’m sure you’ll be back with some other thing.’ I love that and appreciate that so much. Thank you so much. But I will point out that I’ve known for a while that we were this. I was actually just hoping (to) skate by a little bit longer on WWE.com/superstars, so that I could keep saying I was a WWE superstar.

Greg Miller believes WWE is slowly transitioning to Netflix and moving away from Peacock

“I knew this day was coming. Again, it (‘This Is Awesome’) was a Peacock show, as you know, being a WWE person I’m sure. Raw is on Netflix right now in America, everywhere else. Everything is on Netflix. Netflix is kind of the focus. Not Peacock in terms of what was going on and that was like, uh-huh, okay. And there was a few different things that have happened.

“There was that of, yeah, well, you know, we’ll see what happens in 2025 knowing full well that Raw was going to be on Netflix and Netflix would be a big push. Then, it was the shocker for me that the people who make This Is Awesome were actually laid off in January and I was like, well, that’s not good.

“Now there’s no one there to actually make it happen and then, of course, the other one of since jumping over to Netflix, you’ve seen the one, the only, Big E, of course from The New Day, host a bunch of different shows and I think that more than anything is like, yeah, this is why it doesn’t make sense for Greg Miller, video game dork to go host anything, right?… So it was always interesting to host This Is Awesome.

“What an amazing opportunity, what an amazing ride it was for so long. But it was always like, I’m very much an outsider brought in to do this when you have plenty of people here who are good on the microphone and could talk about the most awesome everything… Is it bittersweet? Of course. I would have loved to have hosted WWE show(s) the rest of my existence. But, I also get it.”

Miller is thankful for his time with WWE

Miller would express gratitude for hosting three seasons of the WWE Peacock show. Noting it was something he was very proud of despite the way things ended.

“The fact that I get to do crazy ass stuff like host a WWE show and go film a movie tomorrow, like, it’s outrageous,” Greg Miller said. “So, yeah, I’m just so thankful for everything that happened, and honestly, more than anything, if I was upset, it would be upset to see people I think were so good at their jobs lose them but, I understand business, I understand where we are in the world, I understand X, Y and Z but, ‘This Is Awesome’ is something I’ll always be incredibly proud of and I think it’s so cool that I got to do it and again, I doubt this is the last time you’ll see me horsing around with WWE.

“God knows I can’t get away from this Xavier Woods person. I’ve tried. I’ve blocked the number but he keeps working his way through but, a good run on This Is Awesome. Three seasons I’m incredibly proud of. And I just wanted to have something out there so you knew what was going on.” [H/T: POST Wrestling]
