Antoine Griezmann, who returned to Atlético Madrid in 2021, has recovered his sumptuous villa in the prestigious Finca district. Right in front of Diego Simeone’s…

After only two seasons, the Catalan parenthesis has closed for Antoine Griezmann. Arriving at FC Barcelona in the summer of 2019 for an amount exceeding 100 million euros, the French international returned headlong to Atlético Madrid in 2021, accepting a significant reduction in his salary. But for the native of Mâcon, the important thing was elsewhere. The simple fact of finding the Matelassiers filled him.

And “Grizi” very quickly found its feet in the Spanish capital. The 2018 world champion and his family were thus able to return to their luxurious villa located in the upscale Finca district, a vast residential area in the Madrid suburbs where a certain Karim Benzema resided until recently. Diego Simeone, his coach at the Colchoneros, lives right opposite the former Real Sociedad striker.

Griezmann can play basketball, his other passion

“When I moved to La Finca, my neighborhood in Madrid, I was told that Diego Simeone lived there. But I discovered that his house was really opposite mine! Fortunately, it’s a little higher up so we can’t see one in the other. So I don’t need to close my shutters to have peace of mind.” he told in the columns of Sunday Newspaper.

His house, with modern shapes, was estimated at around 6 million euros at the time of his return to Atlético. Very vast, with no less than 400 square meters and many rooms, it also has a huge exterior where the Griezmann couple and their tribe – three daughters – can enjoy a swimming pool, a football field or a basketball playground, “Grizou’s” other passion.
