Griezmann, his statistics with Atlético which are a stain

Antoine Griezmann still fails to enrich his record with Atlético Madrid.

Atlético Madrid was knocked out on Tuesday evening in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, falling against Borussia Dortmund (2-4). And among the main disappointed with this exit from the road there is Antoine Griezmann.

The French striker had many ambitions for this event. A competition that he had never won in his career. He lost the final in 2016, with a missed shot on goal on his part, and he saw himself erasing this sad memory by triumphing at Wembley next June. This will unfortunately not be the case.

Griezmann, an inglorious record with Atlético

“Grizou” is one of the greatest players in Atlético history. However, his legacy within this club suffers from a real lack. Where the problem lies is that he has yet to win any major title with the Rojiblancos, except the Europa League in 2018. The Spanish and European Super Cups cannot be considered as such.

While he is on his 8the season at the club, the Mâconnais has yet to win any Spanish championship, no Champions League and no Copa Del Rey. And it’s not this season that he’s going to remedy that situation. Of course, he will still have the possibility in the future to correct this anomaly but he is not very young either (33 years old). This is starting to become urgent.
