French international Antoine Griezmann puts an end to an impressive series.

Antoine Griezmann, vice-captain of the France team and key figure of the Blues, will miss the gathering.

The native of Mâcon, who has made 84 consecutive matches with the EDF since 2017, is out due to an ankle injury.

Deschamps calls on Guendouzi

To compensate for the absence of Griezmann, the man with 127 caps, 44 goals and 37 assists, coach Didier Deschamps decided to call up Mattéo Guendouzi.

The Lazio Rome midfielder, sidelined by the Blues since the 2022 World Cup, is having a remarkable season in Serie A with the Biancocelesti.

The former Marseillais has the opportunity to seize his chance and demonstrate that he can be an important element of the EDF.

Two friendly matches on the program

The Deschamps gang will play two friendly matches: the first against Germany on March 23 in Lyon, and the second against Chile on March 26 in Marseille.

These meetings will be an opportunity for the Bayonnais to test their troops and prepare for upcoming events, notably Euro 2024.
