Pep Guardiola crossed two unexpected caps for the first time in his coach career after Manchester City's 2-2 draw against Brighton.

City conceded the advantage twice during the draw on Saturday at Etihad Stadium, and the goal against his Abdukodir Khusanov camp scored the 40th goal in the league this season. This is the first time that Guardiola has received 40 goals in the same season.

This draw also means that Guardiola will reach his lower total of nine seasons in England and all of his coach career, even if City wins his last nine games. This also means that he will not be able to reach an average of at least two points per match for the first time in his career as a coach, who saw him evolve in Spain, Germany and England. This result also moved to the hopes of City qualification for the Champions League, because Newcastle would eliminate them from the top 5 in the event of a victory. However, Guardiola keeps hope that his team will find European competition.

Hope is maintained

“I am always confident. There are times when I doubt, but I find the means. We have nine championship games and nine finals left ”, said Guardiola.

City qualified for the Champions League in 14 consecutive seasons since the 2011-2012 season. Arsenal holds the English record of 19 participations following the group phase between 1998-1999 and 2016-17, while Manchester United qualified for 18 consecutive seasons between 1996-1997 and 2013-14.

City benefits from a two -week break due to the international break. They resume competition for their FA Cup quarter -final against Bournemouth on March 29, then receive Leicester in the Premier League on April 2.
