In the midst of turmoil with only one victory in its last 13 matches, Manchester City has not found its usual level. After another misstep against Everton (1-1), coach Pep Guardiola expressed his urgent need for reinforcements to rectify the situation.

Guardiola hopes for reinforcements in the transfer window

At the Prime Video microphone, Guardiola was very clear: “If we can, we have to add players, for sure. We have difficulties, especially at the back and in the middle. But I don’t know what will happen. In winter it’s not easy, but we’ll try.”

The Spaniard also underlined the need to recruit players capable of staying with the club for the long term: “We want players for the next three, four or five years.” A declaration which reflects the urgency of recovering a collective in decline.

A decisive transfer window for City

The Citizens, 7th in the Premier League, are unable to put together convincing performances. Gaps in defense and midfield weigh heavily on results. As the winter transfer window approaches, the stakes are high for Manchester City, who must regain their competitiveness to hope to achieve their objectives this season.
