Gunther was a man of few words after his world title win at WWE SummerSlam.

Gunther won his first world title on the WWE main roster at WWE SummerSlam. He dethroned World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest after Finn Balor interfered in the match.

During the WWE SummerSlam Post-Show, Gunther had a brief response when asked about his win.

“It felt deserved,” he said.”

The new champion was then asked to share his mindset on Balor’s involvement in the outcome. He responded by saying that there was nothing to be shamed of. Gunther also stated that anyone who doubted him knew where to find him.

“Nothing’s tainted. No reservations, nothing to be ashamed of. From this day forth, Monday Night Raw and the legacy of the World Heavyweight Championship belong to me. If anybody out there thinks I don’t deserve this, they know where to find me.

Gunther Never Saw Himself On Main Roster

Heading into WWE SummerSlam, the powerhouse admitted that he never saw himself on WWE’s main roster. Speaking with Cameron Hawkins of The Ringer, he recalled how he thought he would not fit in.

“I never saw myself being on the main roster,” Gunther admitted. “I always felt like I’m not going to fit in there. Nobody ever in WWE told me to change anything. Nobody does [what I do] better than me. And that’s what I have to offer. I’m not that wrestler that comes out of this system that something doesn’t work, and next week I have a new character; that won’t happen in my case because I’m myself.”
