Gunther reflects on his rivalry with The Miz over the Intercontinental Championship.
WWE Superstar Gunther recently sat down with Cameron Hawkins of The Ringer. When asked about his rivalry with The Miz over the Intercontinental Championship, The Ring General said those matches were something he was really proud of.
“I would say the matches I had with Miz were something that was very important for me,” Gunther said. “Miz is the total opposite of me. It’s 100 percent the other side of professional wrestling than I am. I was really proud of the matches we had to get to those really competitive, dramatic matches. … The people ate it up. They were there for it.”
Not only did Gunther appreciate the matches, but he also relished the opportunity to improve his promo skills by going up against The Miz who he believes is one of the best to ever do it on the microphone.
“Miz was a fantastic counterpart because he’s one of the best in doing that ever on the microphone,” Gunther admitted. “He’s maybe the most versatile talent the company has. That was a big challenge for me.”
