Gunther will defend the World Heavyweigt Championship at WWE Bash in Berlin.

Ludwig Kaiser made his return from injury on the August 5 episode of WWE RAW and introduced Gunther. The new World Heavyweight Champion came to the ring and highlighted his accomplishments as he celebrated his title win.

He stated that the title deserved more, and he teased that he would have a similar reign as his record-breaking Intercontinental Championship run.

“The Ring General” stated that he was prepared for everything, and he was never caught off-guard. However, he was surprised by the sight of SmackDown’s Randy Orton coming to the ring.

Randy Orton Challenges Gunther

Orton noted that he wanted to congratulate him, but that was not his style. However, he said that the title looked fine on him. Orton said that he was the only reason that Gunther was carrying the title, as he brought up his controversial win in the King of the Ring tournament.

Orton told the champion that Triple H said that there would be a rematch, and he was calling that in. He said that the fans deserved a modern-day Flair versus Steamboat. Orton questioned whether Gunther could fill one of those roles. He pointed out that Gunther considered himself a legend, and he was the “Legend Killer.” Orton then said that he would beat Gunther at WWE Bash in Berlin.

Gunther responded by saying that if the voices in Orton’s head told him he could beat him, they were wrong. However, he accepted the challenge.

Gunther previously beat Orton to win the King of the Ring tournament in May, but Orton’s shoulder was not fully down.
