WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther credits Triple H for helping him get to where he is.
In an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther said that Triple H has been nothing but supportive and helpful. He noted that he doesn’t think he would be where he is now without Triple H’s help.
“He always supported me and saw something in me. In general, I think he is somebody that is very disciplined when it comes to his long-term goals with certain people and sticking to them,” Gunther said. “I don’t know if I would be here without ever being more or less connected with Triple H in that sense.”
Gunther likened Triple H to the head coach of a football team in his role with WWE. He also lauded him for his handling of situations, which in turn allowed Gunther to be himself.
“At the end of the day, Triple H right now, he’s our matchmaker, he’s the head of creative,” Gunther said. “And what that role kinda is in our sport is like, he’s the head coach to what a football team would be. All I can do is I can do me. I can do that better than anybody else,’ he explained. ‘And in my case, it’s “take it or leave it.”
“The Ring General” is not set to compete at WWE Bad Blood. However, Sami Zayn will challenge him for the world title on the October 7 episode if WWE RAW.
