PSG could strike hard during the next summer transfer window by setting their sights on Viktor Gyökeres, the striker in great shape from Sporting CP. Untenable since the start of the season, the 26-year-old Swedish striker is one of the most coveted names on the transfer market, with clubs like Barça, Chelsea, and Manchester United also interested. However, Gyökeres recently closed the door on a departure this winter, a situation which could favor the Parisian club.

Gyökeres closes the door to a January departure

Asked about the possibility of joining his former manager Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, Gyökeres was clear: “I want to play the whole season with Sporting and I feel good there. I’m in no rush to move.” For his part, Amorim, recently appointed head of the Red Devils, confirmed that a transfer this winter would be “very difficult”, citing a value of 100 million euros for the attacker.

A boon for PSG this summer?

This situation offers an opportunity to PSG, which could prepare a summer assault to secure the services of Gyökeres. The Parisian club, although reluctant to pay a large sum in January, seems ready to wait for a player who could strengthen an offensive sector in search of solutions.
