The highly anticipated Premier League match between Manchester City and Arsenal, which ended in a 2-2 draw, has unveiled a new controversy after a post-game video stirred drama on social media.
City’s prolific striker, Erling Haaland, found himself at the centre of a heated exchange with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and forward Gabriel Jesus.
Sky Sports footage circulated on social media on Monday captured Haaland confronting Arteta, saying “Stay humble eh. Stay humble eh.”
The situation escalated when Jesus intervened, leading to a profanity-laced exchange. Haaland was heard saying, “Talking about what I wasn’t talking about fing clown,” before pushing Jesus away and adding, “What you talking about… Get the f away, you f***ing clown.”
This altercation came after the tense match where Haaland scored his 100th goal for Manchester City. The game saw Arsenal reduced to 10 men after Leandro Trossard received a second yellow card.
City equalised in the 98th minute through John Stones, setting the stage for the post-match confrontations.
Haaland’s behaviour during the game also drew attention. He was seen throwing the ball at Gabriel’s head after Stones’ goal and clashing with other players following a collision with Thomas Partey in added time.

John Stones, who scored the equaliser, commented on Arsenal’s approach.
“It was a difficult afternoon for both teams, how they stop the play, how they use the side of football that not many teams do. You can call it clever or dirty, whichever way you want to put it, but they break up the game which upsets the rhythm,” he said.
Stones further elaborated on Arsenal’s tactics.
He said, “They slow the game down, they get the keeper on the floor so they can get some information onto the pitch. We had to control our emotions during those tough times and I felt like we did.”
This intense encounter has added fuel to the rivalry between the two title contenders, with both teams displaying a mix of skill and controversy on and off the pitch.
Meanwhile, Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano on Monday stated that Haaland was not going to receive any form of discipline for throwing the ball at Gabriel’s head after Stones’ goal.
He said, “Erling Haaland not expected to face any retrospective punishment for throwing the ball at the back of Gabriel Magalhaes’ head. VAR reviewed the incident at the time, and deemed no action was necessary, @Jack_Gaughan reports.”
