Overpowering, Erling Haaland scored a quintuple in Manchester City’s FA Cup round of 16 against Luton (2-6), with Kevin De Bruyne giving him… four assists!

Catastrophic at the finish against Chelsea or Bournemouth over the last two weeks in the Premier League, Erling Haaland exploded the scorers on the Luton Town pitch on Tuesday evening during a round of 16 victory by Manchester City with a score of 6- 2. And Kevin De Bruyne was the decisive passer on the Norwegian cyborg’s first four goals!

Haaland finished strongly after being launched by the Belgian leader or on a cross from him (3rd, 18th, 40th and 55th) before taking advantage of a pass from Bernardo Silva to score his fifth goal even before the hour mark of play (58th). Pep Guardiola’s attacking duo produced a performance that will be remembered, no matter if it was a Cup match against the small Luton club…

Another record for Haaland

By opening his account in the FA Cup this season (he had not yet played in this competition), the 2023 Golden Shoe becomes the first Man City player to score a second quintuple. He has scored 27 goals in 30 matches in all competitions this season…

In the absence of a sixth goal from Haaland (who left the field in the 77th minute), Mateo Kovacic then increased the score (72nd). The Championship champions had revived the suspense a little with a double from Jordan Clarke (45th and 52nd). In vain.
