Haaland’s plan to erase Mbappé

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been advised to join Real Madrid after missing out on the Ballon d’Or and FIFA The Best award.

Haaland won the treble last season with Manchester City, scoring an incredible 52 goals, but his efforts weren’t enough to win the Ballon d’Or or The Best award. Lionel Messi won both awards, leading Haaland’s camp to believe the striker needs to join Real Madrid if he wants to be crowned the world’s best men’s player, according to AS. The feeling is that a move to the Santiago Bernabéu would be the next step in the striker’s career and offer him a much better chance of succeeding Messi and winning the Ballon d’Or in the future.

Haaland wants to win

Haaland has previously been linked with a move to Madrid and reportedly has a clause in his contract that means Los Blancos would have to pay less for the striker than their European rivals. Madrid’s priority would be to bring in Kylian Mbappé from Paris Saint-Germain, but a deal has not yet been reached, which could allow Madrid to try and bring in Haaland instead. The “cyborg” is under contract with Manchester City until 2027, but his lease includes a release clause which could be activated during the summer. An interesting summer is coming, especially if Mbappé does not join Madrid…
