The Norwegian striker is set to stay at Manchester City for many more seasons. He may soon become the highest paid player in the Premier League.

Erling Haaland has started the 2024-2025 season with a bang. Already the author of four goals after two matches, the Norwegian striker scored a hat-trick with Manchester City on August 31 on the West Ham pitch, on the occasion of the third matchday of the Premier League.

This season is unlikely to be his last with the 2023 Champions League winner. According to Brandthe English club’s directors have started discussions with their star striker. These revolve around an extension and a revaluation of his contract, which runs until 2027.

Haaland, “here for a long time”

His possible future contract could make the Leeds native the highest paid player in the English championship. According to Paul Dickov, a former Scottish international who played for Manchester City between 1996 and 2002, the Norwegian striker is really set to be here for the long term. I know the family well, having played with his father (Alf-Inge Haaland, Editor’s note.) for a few seasonshe said last month, as quoted by Goal UK: Erling loves the club. He loves his team-mates, the fans, etc. He also loves living here, which is important. I don’t think Erling will be going anywhere for a while, the former striker turned manager continued. I know his family have a plan for him. I don’t know what it is. What I can say, knowing him as I do, is that he wants to be here, and for a long time.

Arriving at Manchester City in the summer of 2022 from Borussia Dortmund, Erling Haaland has already scored 97 goals in 102 matches for the English club, in all competitions.
