Guest on the After Foot show on RMC this Thursday evening, Habib Beye spoke at length about his rise to League 2 with Red Star but also about Paris Saint-Germain which is having a high-level end to the season.

The current consultant for Canal + discussed the contribution and form of Ousmane Dembélé this season with Paris Saint-Germain. For him, the Frenchman has reached a milestone thanks to Luis Enrique and considers that he is as important as Kylian Mbappé within the Rouge et Bleu squad.

“Ousmane Dembélé is in the right place, at the right time and with the right coach, the one who was able to give him a lot of confidence through his words. From the start, Luis Enrique kept saying that Dembélé is a fantastic player, even when he was criticized and didn’t score. He always supported him and I think the weight of Luis Enrique’s words on Ousmane Dembélé was very important. »

Before continuing: “It kept him in a dynamic of trust from his coach. He has become almost, and I mean almost, a more important player than Kylian Mbappé in terms of valuation, which is quite exceptional. For me, Luis Enrique highlighted Ousmane Dembélé much more than Kylian Mbappé, and today he has not become the number one threat, but it is very difficult today to read PSG offensively. Ousmane Dembélé is confirming everything we have seen about him. And perhaps we are witnesses to his maturity. Often, we wait for prodigies, we wait for them, then there is a click, a year, a month where everything changes and we say to ourselves that this player has changed. »

Encouraging statistics

Ousmane Dembélé is moving into another dimension with Paris Saint-Germain. Yet criticized for his lack of efficiency, the Parisian number 10 has shown himself to be more and more effective for several matches.

In his last three matches, the French international has found the net 4 times, including two goals in the quarter-final against FC Barcelona. This season, he brings his total to 5 goals and 14 assists in all competitions. Interesting statistics which make him the second most decisive player in the Parisian squad this year.
