Hamster Kombat, a popular tap-to-earn game on Telegram, has finally released its long-anticipated whitepaper, detailing the project’s future plans, including the airdrop distribution of its native HMSTR token
In a social media post on July 30, the project developers announced that they will distribute an impressive 60% of the entire token supply to gamers who have contributed to the project’s success.
Hamster Kombat (HMSTR) Airdrop Delayed but Still in Progress
The Telegram-based game initially hinted at a potential token distribution in July following its successful integration with The Open Network (TON). However, the distribution has been delayed.
The team stated that they are “actively working” to ensure a seamless distribution of the tokens to eligible users, although the exact timeline for the airdrop remains uncertain.
The developers attributed the delay to technical challenges, asserting that the airdrop would be the “largest in the history of crypto”. With 60% of the token supply reserved for rewarding the community, the developers plan to allocate the remaining 40% to support ecosystem growth and partnerships with other projects in the crypto industry.
According to the newly released whitepaper, a portion of the token supply will be allocated to market liquidity, rewarding player squads, and other related initiatives.
Market Stability
The developers also clarified that Hamster Kombat is not backed by venture capital firms or institutional investors. As a result, the tokens are not exposed to the risk of “sell pressure”, a situation that often arises when large investors quickly offload their holdings.
“Since we have neither investment firms nor VCs backing us, there is no extra sell pressure, and the community-driven token and its value will be determined by demand, supply, and community interest,” the whitepaper reads.
In addition to the airdrop distribution, the developers are planning to release the second season of the game. Users have been encouraged to take advantage of their cards to complete quests before the new season is launched.
Hamster Hits 300 Million Milestone
The game also announced on its Telegram channel that it has reached a new milestone of 300 million users, making it one of the fastest-growing blockchain-related games in the industry.
Hamster Kombat entered the market in March 2024, and within one month of its launch, crossed the 100 million user milestone. In just three months, the game attracted more than 235 million users worldwide. The project founders said last month that the success of another Telegram-based tap-to-earn game, Notcoin, played a significant role in the development of the game.
After its debut on the TON blockchain, Notcoin conducted a massive airdrop in May 2024 to reward its community for their support. At the time, Notcoin distributed over 80 billion of its native token, NOT, which had an estimated value of $1 billion
