Hang On: Update On Rock vs. Roman Reigns Still Taking Place

Keep waiting. We are in the middle of the build towards WrestleMania 40 and that has included a variety of changes to matches that were previously announced or teased. This includes the likely main event, which will see Cody Rhodes challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Title. This did not always seem to be the case, and now we might need to get ready for another match down the line.

Earlier this month, Cody Rhodes announced that he would not be challenging Reigns at WrestleMania, teasing that the would get the title shot instead. This was later changed when Rock insulted the Rhodes’ family, resulting in Rhodes changing his mind, setting up his WrestleMania match against Reigns. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE believes that Rock vs. Reigns will take place at some point, though it is not clear where or when the match will happen.
