Hansi Flick already in Barcelona ahead of contract signing

Barcelona are on the verge of announcing Hansi Flick as their new manager.

The Catalans are parting ways with Xavi Hernandez, who oversaw his last game in charge on Sunday. Once the terms of his exit agreement are settled Barça will move forward with the announcement of Flick’s appointment.

Flick already in Barcelona

With the announcement and contract signing expected to take place imminently, Mundo Deportivo states that Hansi Flick has already arrived in Barcelona.

Indeed, the German tactician is waiting for the announcement of his signing for Barça while already staying in Barcelona.

The coach has arrived in the Catalan capital ahead of schedule to be ready to meet with the club’s directors once an agreement has been reached with Xavi’s agent for his termination.

Flick was expected to arrive in Barcelona sometime today with his agent, Pini Zahavi, but according to several eyewitnesses, the German tactician has already been spotted in a luxurious hotel in Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona.

In fact, there are already local press stationed outside the doors of this establishment hoping to capture a snapshot of the man who will be Barça’s new coach.

While sources from the coach’s entourage say that he has yet to fly to Catalonia, definite proof of his presence at the hotel is that a couple of FC Barcelona employees have arrived at the hotel in a van with tinted windows.

As such, the announcement of Flick’s appointment is very near and his contract signing is likely to take place tomorrow once there is a settlement over Xavi’s exit.
