Free since his dismissal by the German federation, Hansi Flick should soon take over a club.

Hansi Flick should not remain unemployed for too long. After a spell with the German national team ended on a negative note, it appears he is ready to return to action. The daily Bild says he is learning Spanish. His goal is to take on a new challenge in the summer. The void that Xavi Hernandez will leave at Barcelona indeed pleases him.

The information comes from Christian Falk, head of the football section of ‘Bild’, a newspaper of considerable importance in Germany. This rumor is therefore different from the previous ones, which linked the future of Thomas Tuchel to Barcelona due to certain statements made during a meeting with supporters, which were taken out of context and which suggested that Mikel Arteta was considering the possibility of leaving Arsenal at the end of the season. It took 24 hours for the Spanish coach to deny this information.

Flick eyes Xavi’s job

Falk himself posted a message on his Twitter profile – or X – to announce the news and emphasize that his sources are reliable. “It’s true: Hansi Flick is already learning Spanish. The former Germany coach is looking for a new challenge for the summer and the Barcelona job would appeal to him,” he wrote, alongside a screenshot of him appearing in a television show to tell what he knows.

Hansi Flick would be perfectly suited to a project like Barcelona’s due to his extensive experience in detecting and managing young talent. This technician began his career at Bammental (1996-2000) and Hoffenheim (2000-2005) before spending more than 10 years as assistant to Joachim Löw and, later, sports director of the German Football Federation. Between 2019 and 2021 he was in charge of Bayern before the international trip which has already been summarized in this text.
