FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is targeting a spectacular 2024/25 season in Catalonia.

Flick won the Spanish Super Cup in January, his first trophy at the club, as part of a spectacular first season in Spain. Barcelona is still in a race for a potential hat-trick, approaching the weekend with three points ahead of Real Madrid, after an easy 3-0 victory against Osasuna.

Flick has the advantage on Carlo Ancelotti, at ten championship games at the end, and he will face Atlético Madrid in the semi-final of the King's Cup, as well as Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League. The former coach of Bayern Munich will advance step by step, before a month of loaded April, but a superb year 2025 was the foundation of his journey.

Barcelona has not lost any match, all competitions combined, since the start of the year, with 16 wins and three draws in 19 games. His last defeat dates back to the last day of 2024, at home against Atlético de Madrid. This series of 19 unbeaten games exceeds the best series of 18 games by Xavi Hernandez in 2022/23 and equal to the emblematic Johan Cruyff record of 1993/94.

This season was considered the last of Cruyff's “Dream Team”, where Romario had scored 30 goals in the league before winning the Liga. Flick is now sixth in the classification of Barcelona coaches displaying the longest series of invincibility, ahead of Tata Martino (20), Frank Rijkaard (24) and Pep Guardiola (28).

More recent examples show the way, with Ernesto Valverde and his 29 consecutive games without defeat in 2017/18, and the number 1 Luis Enrique, with an impressive total of 39 games in 2015/16. Barcelona still has at least 13 games to play this season, which could bring Flick to 32, but he can only reach 36 games before the end of the current season, if Barcelona goes to the end in the King's Cup and the Champions League.
