La Masia has become Barcelona’s silent saving grace amidst the club’s massive economic struggle.

As clubs across the globe hunt for fresh legs on the transfer market, the Catalans have found homegrown solutions time and time again, and the managerial change has not impacted the academy’s limelight.

While Xavi was a staunch believer in giving young stars their chances, Hansi Flick has kept the tradition alive this season.

Looking for more

Senior club football is currently on a hiatus for the ongoing international break and the Barcelona squad is also dispersed for the same.

During the break from club football, however, first-team manager Hansi Flick does not appear to be taking any rest.

Hansi Flick is in attendance for the Juvenil A match.

Flick was seen in the stands watching Barcelona’s under-19 team in action against Badalona under-19 along with his staff and Bojan Krkic.

A gold mine of talents

Barcelona’s under-19 side is brimming with talents waiting to be discovered. Given Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi’s great success with the first team at just 17 years of age, the manager unsurprisingly has his eyes out to find the next pearl.

The spotlight on the night, needless to say, shines bright on Brian Farinas who equalised for the team and Alex Walton who scored the late winner.

Among other young stars who were in action from the get-go on the night were defenders Hector Rangel and Xavi Espart, talented midfielder Quim Junyent and forwards Dani Ferrer and Hugo Alba.

With the team currently struggling for depth in the defensive midfield and centre-back positions, the manager will keep a special eye out on the aforementioned stars.

However, it is clear that they are behind the Barça Atletic stars on the pecking order and are part of the longer-term plan.
