Since being appointed as the Barcelona head coach, Hansi Flick has made multiple changes, both on and off the pitch.

The German tactician has already made sweeping changes to Barcelona’s training regime, adding more restrictive measures and punishing players for coming late.

Flick has been able to utilise Thiago’s leadership skills to bring more harmony in the dressing room as well, which has worked wonders for Barcelona.

Flick wants to restore Barcelona’s image

Over the past few years, Barcelona’s image in the face of world football has taken a massive hit.

The club have been embroiled in economic distress while becoming a subject of several controversies off the pitch. This is coupled with Barça’s underperformance in both domestic and European competitions.

As a result, Barcelona are no longer seen as a European giant and are not even one of the top favourites for UEFA Champions League titles.

According to Gol, Hansi Flick is ready to change this attitude. He wants to restore Barça’s image as champions and as such is ushering in changes at the club beyond just football.

This is why Flick has asked for changes in the images hung at Ciutat Esportiva and the club offices. He wants to constantly remind the players that Barcelona are a champion team.

The German also wants to recover the team’s winning spirit, which he hopes will help Barça actually emerge as one of the favourites to win both La Liga and Champions League next season.

Flick’s efforts are another indicator of his pedigree as a coach and the stress he puts on mentality. Whether or not this will come to fruition at Barcelona remains to be seen.
