What will FC Barcelona look like next season? After several weeks of uncertainty around the coach, the Catalan management ended up formalizing their choice. Exit Xavi who had nevertheless left to stay, now room for Hansi Flick. The German technician, without a club since his departure from the German selection, therefore arrives with the heavy task of putting Barça back on the roof of Spain. To do this, he will have to quickly strengthen a workforce considered too tender and not sufficiently provided in certain positions.

In this sense, Barça management is already working to achieve some nice moves. But the club’s financial situation doesn’t really help. Already last season, the club had its hands tied and had to play with the numbers to offer Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo on loan without a purchase option. For this summer, economic difficulties still exist but that does not stop us from dreaming big. In this sense, the English and Spanish press agree that FC Barcelona fully intends to shop at Manchester City. The first name is none other than Joao Cancelo. The Portuguese international, on loan from City, does not seem wanted by Pep Guardiola and instead met Barça’s expectations. The idea is therefore to keep it permanently or negotiate a new loan. But he is not the only Portuguese desired by Manchester City.

Barça wants three City players

For several seasons now, the name of Bernardo Silva has been associated with FC Barcelona. The former Monaco player, who also attracts Luis Campos and PSG, seems rather favorable to a transfer to Catalonia. And Barça does not want to miss the opportunity to recruit a player of international stature for 58 million euros (his clause). Especially since the player seems to do everything to facilitate Barça, while the TV3 mentioned a clause during the extension of Bernardo Silva at City allowing Barcelona to pay his clause in three installments (19 million per year). But that’s not all. In addition to these two players, FC Barcelona also wants to recover an unwanted player.

This Thursday, the Sun and the Daily Mail revealed that Kalvin Phillips had offered to join FC Barcelona. Arriving from Leeds two years ago now, the 28-year-old midfielder never managed to convince Pep Guardiola and therefore never had his chance at City. Loaned this winter to West Ham (10 matches played), the England international wants to take on a new challenge. And Sport announces that FC Barcelona is very interested in the idea of recovering him. Management believes that he has the profile to match what Hansi Flick wants to put in midfield. Above all, Phillips would strengthen a sector often decimated by injuries in recent seasons. Available for 30 million euros, Phillips could also be loaned and this is what Barça is looking for in this matter. Barcelona sports director Deco will have to move directly to Manchester because he will have work to do with these three files…
