Raphinha’s exploits in the second half of the season were a major reason Barcelona were able to revive their form and hang on to the dream of lifting silverware.

Ultimately, the Catalans could not maintain their unbeaten streak and their hopes of making something of the season were dashed.

However, several players demonstrated their worthiness to remain with the club, with Raphinha standing out as a notable example.

And despite being a man in demand with Saudi Arabian clubs pulling their chequebooks out for the Brazilian, Hansi Flick values Raphinha tremendously in his project.

Flick considers Raphinha key

Indeed, according to Sky Sports Germany (h/t SPORT) the new Barcelona manager holds Raphinha in high regard.

The German coach, who relies on him completely, prioritizes retaining Raphinha over the club’s need to generate funds through player sales.

After all, Raphinha has been a driving force for the team recently, helping them navigate a challenging period.

The Brazilian international scored five goals and provided five assists in his last 13 official games for Barcelona. With the arrival of Hansi Flick, he is anticipated to grow in importance.

Naturally, the needs of the club and the market will influence the future of the attacker. However, the player has repeatedly stated that he desires to continue donning the Barça jersey.

In fact, he recently welcomed a baby, is happy and well-adjusted in Catalonia, and has no plans to move, which further lessens the possibility of an exit this summer.

Barcelona will be wary of interest

The Catalans are currently en route to returning to the 1:1 rule, especially if they fulfil certain conditions. The new deal with Nike is expected to help massively.

But in the event they cannot make the required cuts in the roster or struggle to sign new players, Raphinha could be on the chopping block.

With Al-Hilal reportedly ready to pay a whopping €100 million, including variables, for the Brazilian winger, the 27-year-old’s future is not yet secure.

But, at the very least, Raphinha now has Flick in his corner, who backs him and considers him an important asset for next season.
