With not much time left before Barcelona kick things off against CA Osasuna in Matchweek 8 of La Liga, Toni Juanmarti has brought forward a major update regarding the possible starting lineup.
Barça are currently on a seven-game winning streak in the league and are gunning to make it eight and match the best-ever start to a La Liga season – set by Tata Martino’s team back in 2013/14.
But at the same time, manager Hansi Flick has to think about the UEFA Champions League game coming up against Young Boys next week – especially after Barcelona lost against AS Monaco.
As such, there will be rotations according to Juanmarti, with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal likely to be benched against Osasuna at El Sadar.
It must also be remembered that the 17-year-old was also limping after the Getafe game due to a bruised ankle.
As such, it makes sense for him to be given a break by the manager, especially considering his age and heavy workload.
The report further adds that summer signing Pau Victor could be in line for a start against Osasuna. The 22-year-old, who arrived from Girona, impressed in pre-season but has not received a whole lot of chances since the season started.
If he does get the nod, the versatile attacker, who can play out wide or through the middle, will be aiming to make a big impression.
