A report from Mundo Deportivo has mentioned that new Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick, was impressed by the performances of Ansu Fati and Makiyil Faye during a recent training session.

It must be noted that after a busy morning session on Friday, Flick continued to push his players through two more training sessions. This mirrored his routine from Thursday, maintaining a high level of intensity.

It is said that the training regime mixed physical exercises with ball work, preparing the team for their upcoming pre-season tour.

During these sessions, many youth players filled in as they awaited the return of international players from the Euro Cup and the Copa America.

Among these young talents, two players have particularly impressed Flick: Ansu and Faye. Ansu has been training independently for weeks, often accompanied by his friend Alejandro Balde, who is recovering from an injury.

His goal is to start the pre-season in top physical shape, which could be crucial for his future this year. Flick and the club’s sports department are eager to see him return to his best form after a season with limited playtime during his loan at Brighton.

To help him achieve this, Barça have crafted a specialised physical training plan tailored for Ansu, who is determined to become a key player for the team once again after struggling with injuries.

The club’s physical trainer, Pepe Conde, who joined from Sevilla this summer, has been closely monitoring his progress. The shared connection to Seville—where Ansu lived from ages six to ten and still visits frequently—has fostered a strong rapport between them.

Meanwhile, Flick is equally impressed with the progress of Faye. It must be noted that Barça decided to keep him after recognising his potential.

After an impressive stint with the reserves, the club aims to evaluate him during the pre-season, considering his ability to play on the left side of the defence.
