Happy Gilmore 2 is a go! A sequel to the beloved 1996 golf comedy Happy Gilmore is officially in the works at Netflix, the streamer confirmed during their upfront presentation to advertisers on Wednesday (May 15) in New York City. Adam Sandler is also going to be returning! Keep reading to find out more… Adam starred in and co-wrote the original, which was directed by Dennis Dugan. It has since gone on to become a comedy classic. In the movie, Adam plays Happy Gilmore, a hockey player with anger management issues who discovers he’s also got a talent for golf. He joins the golf tour circuit to win money to save his grandmother’s house, going against an arrogant pro named Shooter McGavin, played by Christopher McDonald.
