A prominent figure within the Ohanaeze Ndigbo sociocultural organization, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, has called upon President Bola Tinubu to promptly engage renowned economists, including the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, former Education Minister Oby Ezekwesili, and the President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina, in tackling Nigeria’s economic challenges.

Isiguzoro emphasized that the success of Tinubu’s administration hinges on his collaboration with these esteemed economists. He urged the President to undertake a comprehensive revamp of his economic team, citing a lack of innovative ideas, competence, and determination within the current setup.

In a statement, Isiguzoro emphasized, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo adamantly asserts that seeking assistance from distinguished economists such as Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, and other highly reputable experts, solely based on merit and not on tribe or origin, is essential in rectifying the economy and providing viable solutions for Nigeria’s well-being.”

He further advised President Tinubu that genuine consultations with these experts could pave the way for a tangible roadmap towards Nigeria’s economic recovery while simultaneously reducing governance costs.

Isiguzoro stressed, “It is evident that Tinubu must initiate a comprehensive overhaul of the economic team, as their evident lack of innovative ideas, competence, and determination has rendered them incapable of navigating the economy out of its current quagmire.”

Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Isiguzoro urged President Tinubu to take decisive action to alleviate the prevailing economic hardships faced by the nation, emphasizing the importance of securing a prosperous future for all Nigerians.
