Harley Cameron has revealed that she is inspired by Jack Black’s ability to combine music and comedy together.

The Australian star has been one of the biggest breakout stars in AEW over the past year. She has been incredibly entertaining, using music and puppetry to bring comedy to wrestling and has been rewarded with a main event push.

She came close to beating Mercedes Mone at AEW Grand Slam Australia but fell short in winning the TBS Championship. However, she admits that she would never have got to that point with Jack Black.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown, Harley Cameron named Jack Black as somebody who inspired her. The Australian star cites his ability to mix together genres, like music and comedy, as something she also wants to do in wrestling.

The Australian star has copied how the School of Rock star entertains fans. It has paid dividends for her so far.

“I always was just so entertained by him,” Harley Cameron said (H/T WrestlingInc). “I always thought it was really cool how he has always mixed music with comedy. And I think that’s like a really rare thing that people do.

“Again, I’m just very into the concept of mixing arts together, and it’s only recent that someone actually referenced that to me and I thought ‘Oh yeah.’ Like I really did grow up loving a lot of the stuff Jack Black did, and I thought it was very clever how he did his humor with his music, and now I find myself doing it and I’m like ‘Oh, I think I was little inspired by him.”
