A name that is on a lot of Manchester United fans’ lips is Harry Amass.

The young left-back joined United from Watford in 2023 as the Reds beat several other clubs to his signature.

Upon joining the club, Amass agreed a four-year deal.

He joined with huge potential having impressed at Watford. At just 15, he was called up to the Watford first team squad for an FA Cup game.

It was still an early sign on how highly Watford rated him.

He was one of the standouts last season for United’s under-18s before being rewarded with a place with the first team squad for the pre-season tour of the United State.

Not only did he travel on United’s pre-season tour in July (2024), Amass produced three comfortable performances, showing the quality that he has.

The performances on the tour show that Amass is more than capable of slotting into left back for the first team when required and with the injuries we have in that position with Shaw and Malacia, you would think it’s only a matter of time before Amass gets his chance in a competitive game.

Amorim to give Amass a chance at left-back

This season if you look at the United squads including as recently as Chelsea there was four youngsters in it. One of them being Amass.

With Ruben Amorim coming into the helm let’s hope he can continue this tradition of youth coming through. This means the likes of Amass getting his chance.
