Harry Delano, Reece Shearsmith, Amar Chadha-Patel & Arturo Del Puerto Join Hulu Pilot ‘Downforce’

EXCLUSIVE: Harry Delano (Freud’s Last Session), Reece Shearsmith (The League of Gentlemen), Amar Chadha-Patel (The Decameron) and Arturo Del Puerto (For All Mankind) have joined the 20th Television pilot for Hulu Downforce (working title) starring Eve Hewson and Murray Bartlett.

Downforce follows Victoria (Hewson), the estranged daughter of a storied racing team’s owner, Sir Trevor (Bartlett), who is thrust back into the family business, leaving the pair to find common ground or risk destroying the team’s legacy.

Delano will play Cayley, Alastair’s son, an engineering genius who’s put to work to help the team; Shearsmith will play Alastair, Regent Racing’s fastidious chief race engineer; Chadha-Patel will play Ihsan, the gentle giant of a chief mechanic for Team Regent; Del Puerto plays Emiliano, the ostentatious Spanish owner of a competing team who’s hellbent on destroying Regent Racing.

Alec Berg will direct the pilot and executive produce alongside Adam Countee, who have overall deals at ABC Signature. EPs also include Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey for Temple Hill, Daniel Ricciardo, Amy Solomon and Lionsgate.

Delano is repped by AFA Prime Talen and Independent Talent Group in the UK.

Shearsmith first came to prominence with the multi-award-winning BBC 2 TV series The League of Gentlemen, which he co-wrote and co-starred in. With writing partner Steve Pemberton, they co-created the BAFTA award-winning series Inside No. 9 (BBC2), which ran for 9 series and 55 episodes. His acting credits include The Unfriend at the Criterion Theatre, A Very Expensive Poison At The Old Vic (for which he was nominated for an Olivier Award), Hangmen at The Royal Court, Saltburn, A Field In England, Good Omens, and The Widower.

Chadha-Patel can currently be seen on Netflix’s limited series The Decameron, opposite Tony Hale and Zosia Mamet from creator Kathleen Jordan. Last year, he wrapped shooting the upcoming feature Wilhelm Tell directed by Nick Hamm which premiered at TIFF 2024. He recently starred in Gareth Edward’s feature The Creator for 20th Century Fox. Additional acting credits include Slip for Roku, Amazon’s limited series Fifteen Love and a leading role in WILLOW for Disney+.

Del Puerto is currently recurring on the Netflix series Pulse and will next appear in the Netflix/A&E series The Lincoln Lawyer‘s second season. Additional credits include the Apple+ series For All Mankind, Westworld for HBO, Godfather of Harlem for MGM+ and HBO’s Camping. On the film front, he played opposite Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman in Twentieth Century Fox’s Independence Day: Resurgence and the Universal Pictures feature Ride Along 2.
