Harry Maguire could become the latest centre-back to be ruled out of action at Manchester United after one reporter noticed the England international struggling in Saturday’s game against Bournemouth.

Maguire is the only fit senior centre-back at the moment and he has been partnered by Willy Kambwala in the last two games, with the pair striking a good understanding in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool last weekend.

There have, however, been doubts over Maguire’s fitness earlier this season as he has also spent extended spells on the sidelines with various issues.

Maguire and Kambwala started the game at Bournemouth on Saturday but at half-time, with the Cherries leading by 2-1, Manchester Evening News journalist Steven Railston pointed out that Maguire had been spotted holding his thigh.

Maguire was visibly struggling toward the end of the first half but still came back out for the second half, with any injury now possibly growing worse.

Raphael Varane could miss the remainder of the campaign with his injury, as could Jonny Evans. Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez could still feature in the last six weeks.

Maguire’s partner on the day, Kambwala, enjoyed a brilliant outing against Liverpool but the trip to the south coast has been one to forget for the Frenchman so far.
