Hayley Erbert announced Friday that she will be rejoining husband Derek Hough on their “Symphony of Dance” tour. She is returning just four months after an emergency craniectomy.
The tour will resume April 14 in Melbourne, Fla. “I am just so excited to get back out and dance again after having something so traumatic happen,” Erbert said in People.
“Dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and so I’m just really excited to get out there and do what I love and also to see the people that have supported me throughout this entire healing journey,” she added.
Hough is being cautious. “We’ve had extensive conversations and tests and results from different doctors,” Hough said. “Every kind of doctor that you can think about, from our original surgeon who did the surgeries to new people in our lives and they are very supportive.
“She’s all clear and we’re all just amazed by her and can’t wait to go out there and put on a great show,” he added.
Erbert was stricken in December 2023 after the couple’s tour performance in Washington D.C. She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel after she had become disoriented.
Erbert underwent a cranioplasty surgery to replace a portion of her skull.
Hough, who postponed tour dates after his wife’s surgery, announced the rescheduled dates in February, though without a commitment that Erbert was set to rejoin him.
