Jérôme Boateng’s mother says he has been “abusing women for years” as court proceedings resume over the alleged assault of his ex-girlfriend.
In an email to a Berlin lawyer dated March 25, 2021, Jérôme Boateng’s mother claimed that her son had been mentally and physically abusing women for years. This statement follows the tragic death of Kasia Lenhardt, Boateng’s former girlfriend, who committed suicide on February 9, 2021 in Berlin.
According to German newspaper Spiegel, Boateng’s mother said: “My son has been mentally and physically abusing women for years, now Kasia Lenhardt has committed suicide and he still doesn’t want to face the consequences of his behavior.”
Procedural errors
Spiegel’s investigation into Kasia Lenhardt’s death has revealed compelling evidence supporting allegations of violence in her relationship with Mr Boateng. Forensic analysis of Lenhardt’s iPhone and numerous audio messages reportedly corroborate his accounts of abuse. Additionally, it emerged that Lenhardt allegedly intended to file a personal injury claim against Boateng shortly before his untimely death.
Chat messages taken from Lenhardt’s communications paint a heartbreaking picture of the abuse she allegedly suffered. As early as October 2019, Lenhardt documented instances of Boateng’s alleged violence, detailing injuries such as broken thumbs and bruises inflicted by him.
“You are misinformed”
Speaking to Spiegel, Boateng’s lawyer explained: “Due to the ongoing procedure, it is currently not possible for our customer to answer your questions in detail. Therefore, basically: You are simply misinformed to a large extent; Furthermore, they apparently only have selective information. He never attacked physically.”
In 2021, Boateng was found guilty of assaulting and insulting his former partner during a Caribbean vacation five years previously. A district court upheld the judgment in November 2022, but reduced the initial fine of 1.8 million euros to 1.2 million euros. Last September, the Bavarian Supreme Court overturned Boateng’s conviction for physical assault due to procedural errors. A new trial will begin on June 14 before a regional court in Munich, reports Bild.
