France coach Didier Deschamps has reiterated his position on the international future of Kylian Mbappé.
Deschamps confirmed his decision not to include Mbappé in his squad for the Blues’ Nations League matches this month after missing the October window due to fitness concerns.
The omission made waves again when Deschamps explained after the list was announced that after a conversation with the Real Madrid star, he had decided not to call his captain.
This has once again reignited debate over Mbappé’s long-term commitment to France after assuming the captaincy in 2023.
Deschamps has also sought to reduce excessive attention to his talisman, to allow the attention to subside, as he returns in 2025.
