He deserves it. There are all kinds of stars on the AEW roster and many of them work for other promotions away from television days. That can make for some interesting situations as you could see some stars missing from AEW for random periods of time. We are seeing that again with a top AEW star, though in this case he has a pretty good reason for being away.

Earlier this month at AEW Revolution, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli defeated FTR in a tag match but the team has not appeared since their victory. According to Fightful Select, the two of them are taking planned time off and Moxley is not injured. The team will not be taking part in the tournament for the AEW Tag Team Titles, though AEW has not given an on-screen reason for why they are not included. Moxley is also booked for shows in Mexico and Japan during the tournament, which prevents him from being able to take part. There is no word on when he will be returning to AEW TV.

Moxley has done rather well in AEW. Check out his time in the company:

Opinion: This is long overdue as Moxley has been around for a very long time and has earned a break. At some point you need a breather before you start breaking down and while Moxley certainly isn’t sitting at home, it’s better than having to make TV every week. Hopefully AEW has something fresh ready for him when he gets back, as he could use something new to do going forward.

What do you think of Moxley’s time in AEW? What do you want to see him do next? Let us know in the comments below.
