At the end of his contract at Liverpool, Mohamed Salah looks back on the extraordinary relationship he has with one of his teammates.

A veil of uncertainty still hangs over Liverpool. Despite a solid first part of the season, marked by a leading position in the Premier League and the Champions League, the Mersey club has not yet decided on the future of three of its pillars: Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Present for a little longer than their captain within the squad, Salah and Alexander-Arnold share a great bond, reinforced by their association on the right flank since 2017. In an interview given to TNT Sports,

the Egyptian striker spoke of his relations with the English full-back, testifying to the friendship which unites them.

A special bond

If Salah mentioned having several friends in the world of football, such as Eden Hazard, Kostas Tsimikas, Dominik Szoboszlai and Van Dijk, he recognizes a particular affection for the number 66 of the Reds. “I really like Trent, but he’s crazy. He doesn’t like to talk, but I love him. Robbo (Andy Robertson, editor’s note) is more for talking, Trent for listening”confided the Pharaohs star.

This feeling is also shared by the 2024 European vice-champion, who considers Salah to be the teammate to whom he is most linked. “We’ve known each other and played together for a long time, our bond and connection, especially on the field. Even though we could do this many times, we never complain about each other. We just know each other’s playing style.”explained Alexander-Arnold to Stadium Astro.
