IMG Credit: WWEHe’s down. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to be put on the shelf, which can rang from a legitimate injury to advancing a storyline. For one reason or another, someone might be taken out of action and occasionally it will be blamed on someone in the same promotion. That is what WWE has done with recent attack, as you won’t be seeing someone for a bit.

The end of this week’s NXT saw the return of Gallus, who had attacked Wes Lee, Josh Briggs and Ivar backstage. WWE has announced that as a result of the attack, Ivar has been injured and will be out of action indefinitely. There is no word on if this is a legitimate injury or part of a storyline. Ivar, Briggs and Lee had been scheduled for a #1 contenders match for a future shot at the NXT North American Title.

It was a busy night. Check out the attack plus what Ivar can do in the ring:
Opinion: I’m not sure if this is a legitimate injury or not, but giving Gallus the credit for putting a monster like Ivar out of action is a good way to go. It makes the team look that much more devastating and it wouldn’t surprise me to see one of them swapped into Ivar’s place in the #1 contenders match. That’s very basic storytelling and it worked well, which is a good sign for NXT.
