Gary Neville has given his verdict on Rasmus Hojlund’s start to life in England, including his recent, prolific run of form for Manchester United.

The Dane etched his name into the Premier League history books on Sunday when his 37-second opener made him the youngest-ever player to score in six consecutive matches (21 years and 14 days old).

With seven goals to his name in the league, five in Europe and one in the FA Cup, it’s shaping up to be a pretty remarkable debut season for Hojlund and with three months of the term remaining, who knows how his numbers could look by the summer.

He was made to endure a tedious 14-game wait before opening his league account, finally doing so on Boxing Day to seal a triumphant comeback win against Aston Villa at Old Trafford, and while the doubters may have grown with each blank match that passed, Neville harboured no concerns.

Neville analyses Hojlund’s form

“The players coming back is a big thing, the team are obviously playing a lot better, the confidence is back in the team,” Neville began on Sky Sports“And I think that were was a lot of expectation on him [Hojlund] at 70 odd million quid, but I think it’s explainable that he’s allowed a few months to settle in and then as the team got better, he got better as well.

“He’s got a smile on his face and he’s got all the attributes you would want in a striker, obviously he’s still raw, little bit immature but you’d expect that.”
