Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole would like to see his former club sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.
The 22-year-old is undoubtedly one of the best players at Selhurst Park, but after a challenging campaign for the Eagles he could look for a big move in the summer.
United are having problems of their own, too. Erik ten Hag’s attack is lacking a creative spark and that is why it comes as no surprise that the Reds are being linked with a move for Olise.
Several players have been the subject of criticism this season, including Brazilian winger Antony, who is a player Olise could replace in the squad.
Antony is yet to score or provide any assists this season despite making 22 appearances across all competitions.
Former striker Cole believes Olise would be the perfect replacement for Antony.
Speaking to Betfred, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, Cole said: “Is he an upgrade on Antony? Most definitely.
“If Olise does join in the summer, then he can bring a lot more to Manchester United because he’s very direct, he’s creative, he scores goals and he’s prepared to take people on. If the move happens, then it’s a signing that could take the team in the right direction.
“I read something that Dwight Yorke said about Antony recently and he claimed that he felt sorry for him and to a certain extent, I feel sorry for him too. To this day, I’m still unsure why they paid as much as they did for him and you can say he’s young and whatever, but I’m still waiting to see what he’s good at.”
Palace’s form this season had led to speculation over Roy Hodgson’s future as manager. They would have enjoyed better results had Olise not sustained two hamstring injuries this season.
