Journalist Daniel Riolo made strong comments about an influential figure in French football.
Between the TV rights crisis and the lack of transparency in the Professional Football League election campaign, Vincent Labrune is being singled out by many observers in the world of football.
Daniel Riolo is part of it.
For several weeks, the After Foot journalist has been criticizing the methods of the outgoing president of the LFP, who has just been re-elected at the head of French football. “It’s just emptiness, there’s nothing in his career. He’s blowing smoke out of Robert Louis-Dreyfus because RLD liked slightly troubled characters, and his whole life was nothing but that.”
“He did everything to get Pape Diouf’s skin”
Daniel Riolo then clarified his point by giving specific examples.. “As soon as he meets intelligent people, there is conflict, with Pape Diouf, they hated each other and he did everything to get his skin. Because that’s what he’s into (Vincent Labrune), he wants to bleed people dry, you’re faced with emptiness, someone who is not intelligent. Yes, he is an OM supporter, without a doubt. He wanted to be president of OM, to the point of bleeding Pape Diouf, of pushing him aside, of scheming. Except that when he is president of OM, what does he do? He does everything backwards.”
“What he enjoys is playing Monopoly with people, he doesn’t do anything for the club’s interest. He’s fascinated by making transfers in all directions, but at no time do you feel that he’s working in the club’s interest, even though it was his dream to do that.”concluded Riolo, on RMC.
