The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has charged governors to empower civil servants in their respective states, by exposing them to relevant refresher courses.
Mrs Walson-Jack, who spoke on Wednesday at the opening session of the 46th National Council on Establishment in Osogbo, said exposure to relevant courses would strengthen workforce capacity.
She further disclosed that equipping civil servants with relevant skills would provide solutions to modern-day challenges, adding that workers with the essential skills were needed for the smooth running of public administration.
“I strongly encourage state governments to actively support and send their civil servants to attend the courses provided by these esteemed institutions.
“By doing so, we will not only strengthen the capacity and effectiveness of our workforce across the nation but also equip civil servants with the essential skills needed to meet today’s challenges.
“Investing in these programmes ensures that we continue advancing toward our shared goals with resilience and professionalism,” Walson-Jack said.
Expressing commitment to supporting the state heads of service through collaborations and partnerships focused on capacity building, guidance, assistance, and solutions to overcome challenges, Walson-Jack assured them of support towards achieving the shared goals.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, represented by the Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi, commended civil servants in the state for their support for the current administration.
Adeleke assured them of readiness to further support workers towards the successful implementation of government policies.
