Hollywood actors including Mark Hamill, Mandy Moore, and Eugene Levy have been forced to flee their homes, as stars are reacting to the raging Palisades wildfire.

Star Wars actor Hamill said he evacuated “so last minute there [were] small fires on both sides of the road.” In an Instagram post, he added it was the “most horrific” blaze since the Kinneloa Fire of 1993.

This Is Us star Moore wrote on Instagram that she had evacuated her house alongside her children and pets. “Praying and grateful for the first responders,” she said.

Levy, the Honorary Mayor of the Pacific Palisades community, was also among those fleeing the flames. The Schitt’s Creek star told The Los Angeles Times that the “smoke looked pretty black and intense” in his neighborhood.

Moore and Levy are unlikely to be the only Hollywood stars disrupted by the fire, which has come after Southern California hasn’t seen more than 0.1 inches (0.25 centimeters) of rain since early May.

Whitney Cummings, the comedian who starred in 2 Broke Girls, said she was seriously considering moving out of California.

Kaley Cuoco, the Big Bang Theory actress, echoed the sentiments of many when said on Instagram: “This is heart wrenching to witness what’s happening in our backyard.”

Chris Pratt said: “Thank you to the brave firefighters and first responders who are working tirelessly to protect lives, homes, and wildlife as they battle fast-moving wildfire fueled by fierce winds. You are true heroes, and we are endlessly grateful for your sacrifice and courage.”

Josh Gad, best known for voicing Olaf in the Frozen franchise, commented: “I hope everyone is staying safe tonight in the affected fire areas in Los Angeles. My deepest gratitude and appreciation goes out to our brave fire and rescue and police forces who are doing everything in their power to keep the residents of Los Angeles safe right now.”

Billie Eilish said the scenes were “devastating,” while Khloe Kardashian also had a message for first responders: “Your selflessness, resilience, and tireless efforts to protect lives and communities are deeply appreciated. You are true heroes, and we are incredibly grateful for all you do.”
