Japanese video game creator Hideo Kojima recently shared his thoughts on Jun Kasai’s documentary, Kyo-en the Documentary of a Man Who Shines in Blood.
The film was released in 2021 and focuses on the life of Japanese deathmatch wrestler ‘Crazy Monkey’ Jun Kasai. The documentary explores his life and the risks he takes in the ring. It gives a closer look at Kasai’s passion for professional wrestling.
Over the years, Jun Kasai has competed in CZW, NJPW, and various other promotions. He has made a name for himself with his hardcore wrestling style.
Hideo Kojima recently watched the documentary by sharing his review on X (formerly known as Twitter). He expressed his admiration for Kasai’s dedication to professional wrestling. Kojima mentioned rewatching Tiger Mask’s match against Dynamite Kid and his tag team match with Tatsumi Fujinami.
Kojima wrote, “I finished watching it late last night. He truly is an entertainment artist who uses his body as his medium. My father belonged to the post-war professional wrestling generation, dating back to Rikidōzan’s era. As a child, I grew up watching wrestling broadcasts with my father rather than baseball. I’m part of the second generation of the professional wrestling era. Last night, it brought back so many memories that I revisited the debut match of the original Tiger Mask (vs. Dynamite Kid) and his tag team match with Tatsumi Fujinami on Blu-ray.”
On March 30, 2025, Jun Kasai competed in a match at ZERO1’s 24th Anniversary event. He won the Royal Rumble by defeating Momoka Hanazono, Shin Sakura Hirota, Shuji Ishikawa, Trans Am Hiroshi, Unagi Sayaka, VENY, and Yuuki Mashiro. The event took place at Shinjuku FACE arena in Tokyo, Japan.
