That’s it? There are all kinds of ways for wrestlers to retire but few are able to pick the time when they want to officially hang up their boots. That can make for an interesting situation as someone can officially announce their retirement, either after a match or far in advance. One of the biggest stars of all time is announcing his cutoff date to end his career, which is not that far off.

John Cena was a guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show where he spoke about his eventual retirement. Cena, who turns 47 years old next month, said that 50 years old was his “absolute line in the sand” for getting out of the ring. He went on to say he was grateful for his time with WWE but he wanted to go on to become a better husband and partner. Cena’s most recent match took place at Crown Jewel in November 2023.
